People will see your message but not the original content until they follow the account. Of course, if your viewers blocked nym directly (which many people have done) then they won't see the account at all.

I would suggest that nym should just delete the duplications in the past 200 messages. That solves it. Keep in mind, watching for duplicates is the way many relay operators find and delete spam messages and authors from their systems. Spamming has been such a problem that this is quite widespread as of now. I would assume most relays have deleted nym's messages, knowingly or not, in the past as well.
